What sort of protection do investors have?
Securities Investor Protection Corporation (SIPC), which protects member securities customers of up to USD $500,000 (including USD $250,000 for claims for cash). The Alpaca Excess Insurance coverage provides protection for any eccuity Invest customers of up to USD $30 million in securities and USD $1 million in cash, and is covered at an aggregate limit of USD $150 million across all eccuity Invest and Alpaca Securities accounts. Crypto assets do not fall under the protection of SIPC insurance as it is an unregulated asset.
What type of assets are on the Platform?
Alpaca is a US-regulated broker-dealer with whom we partner to provide cost-effective brokerage services in New Zealand and shortly Australia.
Who can use eccuity Invest?
We currently allow individual New Zealand residents who are over the age of 18 to come and invest using our service.

Here's everything you'll need to finish your account setup:
Company Incorporation Certificate or Trust DeedNZ Driver Licenses or Passports of directors or major beneficiaries. Any other documents that will speed up the verification process.
Where is the crypto I buy using eccuity Invest held?
At present, eccuity Invest is partnered with Alpaca who is the business we use as our broker-dealer.
Alpaca Crypto maintains its customers' cryptocurrency in cold storage crypto wallets with Fireblocks LLC ("Fireblocks"). Fireblocks is a licensed money services business with FinCEN. In addition, Fireblocks is SOC 2 Type II certified. Alpaca Crypto is also a licensed money services business with FinCEN and is SOC 2 Type II certified.
Is eccuity free to use?
Yes, eccuity and eccuity Invest will always be free for users to access. We will then add so much value that you may pay for our subscriptions or services. If you join as an eccuity Invest user there are transaction costs associated with use of the service.
